Esta linha de pesquisa concentra-se no estudo dos transtornos neuropsiquiátricos e neuropsicológicos, investigando desde a sua base neurobiológica até as possíveis intervenções terapêuticas. Focando em transtornos como depressão, esquizofrenia, TDAH, TEA, ansiedade e transtornos do humor, esta área busca compreender as alterações neuroquímicas, genéticas e funcionais que contribuem para a manifestação e progressão dessas condições. Os estudos podem envolver desde ensaios clínicos até experimentos pré-clínicos, visando tanto o diagnóstico precoce quanto o desenvolvimento de novos tratamentos
Esta linha de pesquisa dedica-se ao estudo da neuroplasticidade, ou seja, a capacidade do cérebro de se reorganizar e adaptar-se ao longo da vida, especialmente após lesões neurológicas ou processos degenerativos. A neuroplasticidade é fundamental para a reabilitação de funções motoras e cognitivas em indivíduos que sofreram acidentes vasculares cerebrais, traumas cerebrais ou outras lesões que afetam o sistema nervoso. Os pesquisadores buscam entender os mecanismos biológicos e funcionais subjacentes a esse processo e desenvolver abordagens de reabilitação neuropsicológica e fisioterapia
