Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

Ivy Enber Scientific Journal adopts a digital preservation policy aimed at ensuring continuous, secure, and permanent access to its published scientific content. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the integrity and availability of scholarly records over time, the journal implements archiving, preservation, and data recovery mechanisms aligned with international best practices in scholarly communication.

As its primary preservation strategy, the journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed archiving system developed by the Public Knowledge Project and based on LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology. This model ensures the creation and maintenance of multiple preserved copies of published articles, distributed across different servers, significantly reducing the risk of content loss resulting from technical failures, disasters, or service discontinuities.

In addition to distributed preservation, all editorial content is stored on the journal’s institutional servers and is subject to regular backup procedures, monitoring, and data integrity controls. These measures provide greater operational security and enable the recovery of information in contingency situations.

The journal also assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all published articles. The DOI ensures the persistent location of documents on the internet, facilitating their retrieval, citation, tracking, and interoperability with databases, indexing systems, and academic platforms at both national and international levels.

Through these initiatives, Ivy Enber Scientific Journal reaffirms its commitment to the long-term preservation of scientific production, the reliability of the scholarly record, and the broad dissemination of knowledge to researchers, institutions, and society as a whole.
