ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABILITY:
A NEW PERSPECTIVE FOR LEARNING

Humanity has established an increasingly predatory relationship with nature in the face of the capitalist production model and, as a result, humanity is rapidly approaching environmental disaster. Given this scenario, education that is more committed to sustainability is necessary, which, in view of this, requires collaborative work between all actors in this construction. In view of the above, this work aims to identify the relevance of sustainable schools in the training of elementary school students in the initial years of public schools, and what contributions can be assisted in the actions carried out in these educational establishments for student development. In doing so, we are committed to understanding what a sustainable school is. Analyze the projects implemented in these schools and identify the benefits of student learning. To this end, this study is a bibliographical research on scientific articles, methodologies, books, publications, etc., extracted from the Google Scholar and Scielo databases. Analyzing this context, a possible solution would be to invest in innovation in the research structure as a way to ensure that environmental damage, whether social or biological, continues to exist and we must dare to overcome new paths. Research can be one of the main paths to this audacity, however, there is no recipe to follow, each topic is a universe free of creativity and criticality.
